Tina Louise was an American actor, singer and writer, best recognized as Ginger Grant from the TV show Gilligan's Island. Tina Louise began her acting career as a stage artist during the 1950s beginning in Two's Company a musical by Bettle Davis. In the following years, she appeared on Broadway in a variety of shows until the year 1957, when Li'l Abner made it big in the National Theatre. Her first music album called It's time for Tina in the same year. Louise was the first to make her debut in Hollywood in the role of Griselda Walden on God's Small Acre, a film about drama that was released in 1958.The film was praised widely and Louise won her Golden Globe Award in the New Star of the Year category. In that time, she was a student at the Actors Studio of New York. Lee Strasberg was her tutor. Louise joined CBS in 1964, to portray Ginger Grant.
